 In the winter of 1985, two young women, Tess and Amanda decided they wanted to be mothers and raise a family. Travis hadn't even been a glimpse or thought in anyone's mind just yet, but these two women wanted a baby more than anything. They started looking through adoption ads, going to agencies and even talked to a lawyer whom specialized in same sex adoptions but nothing came up. They still kept pressing on, their hope and faith that one day they would hold their own little baby when in mid October they got the call that would change their lives forever. A girl about sixteen years old was pregnant and wanted to give her baby up for adoption to a loving family because she could not take care of the unborn child and the father wasn't in the picture. Tess and Amanda met the girl who could potentially make their dreams come true, the teen girl instantly falling in love with the idea of them raising her baby as she wished she could. The three kept in touch, went to the doctor's appointments together and on July 31, 1986, Tess and Amanda had a beautiful baby boy whom they named Travis.
The first year wasn't easy for the couple having to take care of a baby and go through the hurdles and risks, but they loved every minute of it. For Travis, growing up wasn't as easy as it was for most kids who had two opposite sex parents. He often became the butt of everyone's jokes and pranks, ridiculed and called homophobic names all because he had parents who loved him and who happened to be lesbians.
High School hadn't been easy either, Travis had come out to his parents when he was Thirteen years old, Tess and Amanda proud of their son for who he was, and because of that things seemed to be worse for him with his peers at school. He didn't care what other people thought about him, nor did it bother him at that point- there's only so much you can take after a certain point. Some where between his junior year in high school and his freshmen year in college, Travis joined a band, music being his ultimate vice. He had learned how to play guitar at a younger age and kept at it for years and still does practice every couple of weeks. Recently, the band had broken up because one of the members (also, Travis' partner in life) had commited suicide and Travis took it hard burying himself in everything he could. He certainly didn't know what to do with his life now that the band ended and he had this kid sleeping on his couch that he barely knew, who seemed to be pretty close to perfect. They met at a pride rally a few weeks before and they just clicked. Toby and Travis got along great and continued to get to know one another over the next couple of months. They seemed to be getting closer and closer, Travis finding himself falling for the younger man but he would never admit that to anyone not even himself. Toby decided he needed to go home and tie up some loose ends with a few people from his past and seeing as Travis had nothing else better to be doing in Los Angeles and wanting change, he tagged along moving to Longport, New Jersey. Seven months after the big move, Travis and Toby were no longer together, they had managed to stay close friends even after Toby and his fiancee moved to Los Angeles. He felt like everyone and everything had disappeared and mostly everything did because Trav had made a lot of mistakes with a lot of people but there was always Josh. Anything pertaining to Josh resulted in drama and heartbreak but he just couldn't stay away. Josh was the inspiration behind him opening his own gallery, a dream of Travis' for years. After two visits to the local mental facility, Travis decided to head back to Los Angeles to visit with Toby, Kit and his biological father to get his life straight and get himself back together. He's been doing good but all he can think about is getting back to Longport to be with his parents and finish the renovations on 11:eleven so he can begin a new chapter of his life.
